Turn the Percussion Music on or off Primary School Children just love our Percussion Workshops
"Children need to hear and see good musicians. Finding the right people, though, isn't always easy and if you're spending money, you want high quality and the kind of wit and enthusiasm that will keep children engaged. Ideally too, you want children to have the chance to do some music making of their own. On all these counts Shake, Rattle and Roll scores highly".

The Percussion Show

Shake Rattle and Roll shows are designed to give children from nursery to year 7 a chance to experience percussion music from around the world. A typical day in the company of Shake Rattle and Roll would begin with a one-hour performance to the whole school. Introducing Paul and Mark on a range of percussion instruments, there's laughter, audience participation and costumes guaranteed to keep the children captivated from start to finish. From the beat of the Scottish Highlands to the pulsating rhythms of Rio or classical melodies of Europe to the unmistakable sound of the Caribbean, our shows are an unforgettable visual, learning experience that's fun all the way.

The Percussion Workshops

The percussion workshops are Samba Carnival, Caribbean Calypso and Junk for Key stage 2, Tribal Rainforest and Ocean workshops for Key Stage 1. We cater for classes and year groups of up to two classes at a time for the Samba workshop if required. Duration and content of the workshops are age-appropriate with sessions lasting between 20 and 40 minutes. Each session is very "hands on" with each child playing an instrument and working towards a performance outcome at the end.

The Evening Show

Our evening shows are a great way of giving the children a chance to perform to their families, and the families an opportunity to see the fruits of the children's work throughout the day. We combine percussion workshop performances with highlights of our own show to round off the whole day.
